A Sunday Break with Entrepreneur
Sunday is a day to take a break for me.
I happened to spent my Sunday with a Taiwanese couple, the parents of a student if the school I am serving in. They are entrepreneurs who set up business in Shanghai.
It was my teacher, who is now my superior, took me up the mountain. She invited the parents (Mr and Mrs Lee) to tag along too. They made the trip inspiring. Of course we were enjoying the scenery on the mountain, but at the same time, I got to listen to Mr Lee sharing his life story, his business, as well as his current vision and mission. IT'S SO INSPIRING THAT I THINK I NEED TO HAVE A BUSINESS IN MY CIRCLE TO BROADEN MY SCOPE!
He is a pen manufacturer. The kind of pen he sells in no ordinary pen. The outer shell of the pen has delicate carvings, and the cap locks tightly to the pen. The ink is from Germany. One pen cost NT$3000, approximately SGD$150.

Recently, has decided to transform his business into a totally different aspect.
1. He wants to set up an orphanage and hospice.
This is not an ordinary orphanage and hospice. This orphanage and hospice will be manage with Confucianism, where the orphans are inculcated with filial piety, and serve the elderly at the hospice. While the elderly can share their life experiences to the orphans. The orphans can find the values in their lives while being educated.
2. He advocates cultivating organic herbs to promote Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Healthcare is everyone's concern. Traditional Chinese Medicine is the wisdom passed down by the ancestors, which treat our illness from the roots of the cause. Organic herbs would be harmless.
3. Promoting hydroponic vegetables cultivation, founding wide diversity of vegetarian delicacy restaurants.
This avoid the use of pesticides, herbicides as well as chemical fertilizer. This kind of farming method is not tradition, but at least it won't poison the consumers as well as other organisms.
People may think that it is mission is too perfect to be accomplish. People may think this is far beyond the reality.
This mission is undeniably challenging. I am giving him my fullest moral support. What he is doing is what the society needs, which can make a great impact to the world. It's easier to be said than to be done. But he is a business man. I believe in his efficiency in carrying out his plans.
It is not easy to come out with such thoughts, such a BIG wish. All these plans are not about fame, not about wealth. He wants use his business brain to do something meaningful in his life to return the gratitude of his spiritual teacher.
